What is an Alpha Woman?
An Alpha Woman is a strong, independent woman who is successful in her everyday life. Though she may not be the CEO of a company or make several million a year, she is confident about who she is as a person and where she is headed in the future. She is a decision-maker who has goals and aspirations; she is opinionated and not afraid to speak her mind. Most importantly, she is a woman who is comfortable in her own skin and who strives to get the most out of every single day.

Founder
Freda Mooncotch
is an innovative entrepreneur whose vision for AlphaWomen.com was
conceived around the realization that a place on the internet did not
yet exist for strong, modern women to talk about issues that are
relevant in today's society. A single mother at the age of eighteen, Freda had long envisioned a place where women could
express themselves in a hate-free environment and where their opinions
truly mattered. She also wanted to create a space where like-minded
women could learn from one another by sharing their personal stories
and experiences.
Freda attended North Central College in Naperville, Illinois, specializing in Organizational Communications. In addition, Freda pursued a B.A. in Religion at Andrews University in Michigan. Seven classes short of obtaining her B.A. in Religion, she grew tired of the hypocrisy and narrow-minded views of her educators and fellow peers. She packed her bags and left in search of opportunities that would allow her to embrace her beliefs, while making an impact on society.
Her hobbies include learning how to race cars, writing, dancing and golfing. She has been instrumental in running the family business, La Grange Crane Service Inc., one of Chicago's premier crane service companies, www.LaGrangeCrane.com. You can contact her at Freda@AlphaWomen.com

Dana Pettaway
Writer, Mom, Artist, Creator... I am a single mother by necessity and don’t expect a reward for doing
my job. I mean if I wasn’t a single mother, who would raise my child? I
love my son more than my own life, but it is hard to be a single mother
and I don’t recommend it. But, I cannot assume that anyone would choose
it. Sometimes I just want to ring his little neck.
I consider myself an entrepreneur of sorts. I love things natural
so I created my own skin care line that is edible! I just enjoy
creating and doing for others and sometimes myself and see value in it.
I love to sew…I mean love to sew. Project Runway! Finally something
real on TV! Sewing is difficult even for a veteran. I have been sewing
since I was 6 or 7. I don’t sew often because I don’t have a lot of
time with my other passions.
Nature and natural is my plight. I would like to rid the earth, so I
start with my home, ridding it of chemicals. We don’t need them and
they are killing us. So I make my own cosmetics and cleaning supplies
when I can. One good cleaning product is baking soda and vinegar (it
will make a tub shine).

love this site!!
I am AlphaWoman Hear me Roar!
Thank you for this fabulous site! I have recently started a business with my mom and I came to this site since these are the women we seek to serve with our product. I emailed Miss Freda to talk to her about possibly mentioning our product to her fabulous bloggers... she told me the best way to reach out is to blog myself about my business... I thought "WOW! I can actually talk about the trials and tribulations of starting a business and raising two kids all in the same place! How REAL!!" We as women are different when we start our own business... it is like giving birth... without the stretch marks! I am so grateful that I have a place that I can express every aspect of my life without fearing that my post will be taken down because I've mentioned my business. And just like Miss Freda, my business, your site, is an extension of who we are as women and there is so much to share and learn, how awesome that we only have to come as far as AlphaWomen.com to vent, to learn, and to inspire and be inspired. I raise a glass to you, cheers!!

Kudos
I have to say that a week ago I was really getting crappy thinking about life, my issues with leg and the limitations I have that I've never had to deal with before. I rarely get down or worried but after almost a year of this, I was clearly doing the slide.
Since you approached me about helping with AlphaWomen, I have been more like my old self and today I rode a bike at Physical Therapy today for the first time in a year. You are good karma, Freda.
This site is outstanding. I am proud to contribute.
