I watched “The Contender” this morning on HBO. I’d never seen the movie before, and quite frankly, it made my stomach turn. Actress Joan Allen plays a woman named Laine Hanson, who is chosen by the sitting president, played by Actor Jeff Bridges, to be his new Vice President after the sitting VP in office suddenly dies. The VP vetting process that this woman is put through, would make any woman here at Alphawomen.com, completely nauseated. Hanson is run through the VP vetting-mill in a manner THAT NO MAN in the same position would EVER be put-through…and THE SAME THING IN ‘REAL LIFE’, IS HAPPENING EVERY DAY TO SARAH PALIN.
It should not matter if you aren’t voting for her: doesn’t it bother you AS A WOMAN, to see how she is being treated? EVEN JOE BIDEN and MAJOR DEMS have stated that the way Palin is being vetted is the worst that they have ever seen---even worse than Hillary was treated.
Ladies: this is the year 2008 AND WE ARE STILL A 3RD WORLD COUNTRY WHEN IT COMES TO PUTTING A WOMAN IN THE HIGHEST OFFICE IN THE LAND. Compared to MOST other countries on the planet, we are 100% backward when it comes to PROMOTING WOMEN. Until Nancy Pelosi took office as Speaker of The House NO WOMAN had ever COME CLOSE to that office or any office above it! Ladies, I ask that you SUPPORT SARAH---NOT AS A VOTER, but as a WOMAN YOURSELF.
Again, it just doesn’t matter if you are or are not voting for her, or if you do or do not believe in her politics or her personal views--- I am asking you to please email or call EVERY cable and network news venue, and state that AS A WOMAN, you feel the manner in which Palin is being PERSONALLY attacked should be totally OFF THE TABLE.
Biden played college football. No one has made fun of him for that. Palin was a beauty queen, and she’s been laughed-at CONTINUALLY for having been one.
Biden is a daddy. No one has ever asked him if he can handle being VP and being a daddy at the same time. Palin is a mommy. She has CONTINUALLY been asked if she can handle the VP job, as well as her role as Mommy.
Biden’s kid has been in trouble---arrested for fraud. No one has even mentioned that. Palin’s daughter is pregnant and unmarried, and they made that little girl the news, JUST to attack Palin.
RARELY, has Palin been attacked for her so-called lack-of-experience----WHERE PALIN HAS BEEN ATTACKED, IS PERSONALLY AS A WOMAN. PERSONALLY AS A FEMALE.
JOE BIDEN IS A DEMOCRAT. HE IS RUNNING AGAINST PALIN FOR VICE PRESIDENT. BIDEN DOESN’T SUPPORT ANY OF PALIN’S POLITICAL IDEAS---AND HE YET HE IS VERY ANGRY AT HOW PALIN HAS BEEN PERONALLY ATTACKED.
YOU ARE A WOMAN.

Some Inexperienced U.S. Presidents
-Abraham Lincoln served only one term in the House of Representatives and lost his U.S. Senate campaign in 1858.
-Woodrow Wilson served as New Jersey's governor for two years when he was elected president in 1912.
-Theodore Roosevelt was governor of New York from 1898 to 1900 and
served six months as vice president before becoming president after
William McKinley was shot.
Some Inexperieced Vice Presidents:
John Adams, Chester A. Arthur, Henry A. Wallace and Garret Hobart are
all former Vice Presidents that have NEVER served as a U.S.
congressman, U.S. senator, or even a state governor before entering the
White House.
Can you say "sexism against the Woman-American candidates?"

Baby Fat? I don't think so
I was watching Sara on a TV station talk about the attacks that have been thrown at her. I was tickled at her response. She pinched her waist and said that she didn't have baby fat from her recent pregnancy but she did have tough skin that could stand up to the attacks. She also said that the look a like comedian that imitated her on another TV show was "spot on" in looks and jestures. My point is that Sara in control of her emotions and thought process. She doesn't get angry but she has a good sence of humor. If you listen to her talk about the relevant issues - she is V. P. material. There shouldn't be an onslaught on her gender or her family or her personality but on how well she address the issues. After listening to all the debates and interviews with the various candidates, Sara like the men involved in this presidental race has the intelligence to handle those issues. I have women collegues who have gone through the same kind of garbage. They showed the same tenacity that Sara is showing and they got the position, they still have the position. I have had some real garbage thrown at me because I am a woman running a company in a male dominated industry. You've got to have a good sence of humor and lots of persistance. Getting mad or getting even aren't skills for good leadership but having tenacity, optimism and courage are the skills that count. Sara has all these and many more. She will make an excellant Vice President. Sara has the eye of an eagle, she is focused and she is going for it. Nothing will stop her. I don't have to be angry for Sara because Sara knows how to fight the good fight and win.
