This election year is so exciting, at times like these I wish that I was graduated from college so that I could go and be on the presidential campaign. I love Politics so much and am just so excited about being in the thick of it someday! I want to make a difference and have a voice for strong women everywhere. I support a strong female congressional candidate right now, she is a retired state trooper and once I met her I fell in love with what she was trying to do for the country. I did not support Hillary for president because I believe that First Lady is as much of a political position as president, she accepted her position and she should not be allowed to exploit the system in the way she was trying. Just think of it this way, don't you think Hillary had an impact on President Clinton when he was in office? Come on you know Hillary how could she have not had a hand in a lot of the decisions? Hillary Clinton is undeniably a strong woman and I respect her for who she is and has worked to become, how could you not respect that?! Even though I am a devoted Republican and would never want to work on a Democrat's campaign, I would in fact work for a Democrat Alpha woman to learn from her while she held political office. I can only hope that working for a democrat while she is in office would not tarnish my devoted republican record, but I would stand by that if ever questioned about why I worked for a female Democrat. I have a little Girl Power spirit in me, which is classified as wanting a female to succeed over a male.
Girl Power!

If you've read the discussion I've had with Beauty Mark on Blessings Revisited, you will not be surprised to learn I'm a Republican although I'm disgusted with their recent performance and have always been annoyed that economic conservatism is automatically linked with social conservatism.
For example, I support lower taxes, but I also support Roe v Wade and have yet to hear a convincing "conservative" argument against the manifest social benefits of gay marriage.
I, too, must say I was impressed with Hillary's performance during the primaries. Despite myself, I was reluctantly impressed with her tenacity. That said, she scares me. Really scares me.
Anyway, I love your passion for politics. Keep it up. And post frequently on your reaction to the turbulence of this upcoming election.
Best.--
Awesome to be so riled up
Awesome to be so riled up about politics! I wish I were the same, but I really can't help but feel cheated when the candidates make their grand speeches....I'm half-hoping that what they say will come true, and the other half of me knows perfectly well that politics includes lots of manipulative lying, bribing and coaxing.
I'm a Democrat and believe in girl power 100%, but did not support Hillary. I wasn't too big in supporting Obama either (the whole "change" thing is great, but you gotta wonder how much of it is true???) but when it came down to it I was on the Obama side like everyone else in Chicago.
