I have been a Democrat all my life.
But I absolutely to my blood and bone, DESPISE Barak Obama.
I despise B.O because he is an unqualified, smack-talking, deceitful, hypocritical, back-stabbing, disloyal-to-the-people-who-got-him-where-he-is, narcissistic horse’s asshole---and the way he and his campaign cohorts tanked Hillary Clinton is, quite frankly, without absolution for him from any God or Goddess.
Obama’s ONLY WAY of surviving a complete Holocaust from his campaign, by Hillary Clinton Supporters, was to put Hillary’s well-qualified virtuoso booty on the ticket as his Vice-President. But, being the All-Holy-Me narcissistic, politically-naive prick that B.O. is, he went-with the ‘advisers’ who declared that Hillary would be a tremendously bad choice—and then proceeded to ask the set-in-stone, #1 Washington Insider and his worst chief critic: diarrhea-mouth Joe Biden---to be his second-in-command.
Looking to the other side of the aisle, I sought a genuine way-out of voting for the Democratic ticket. Otherwise, I was, for the first time since I’d turned 18, staying home on Election Day. And I, in no way, thought that slow-talking, slow-moving John McCain would have had it in him to make such an audacious, prolific and genuinely luminous choice as Sarah Palin, for his Vice-President.
I admit it: I do not agree with most of Palin’s political beliefs…on many issues, Palin and I are on opposite sides of the fence…but I have done extensive research on her, and I have heard her speak, and I know that what Palin respects, above-all, is MY CHICK CHOICE TO CHOOSE WHAT IS BEST FOR MY LIFE.
What is more, Palin has the most-difficult-to-handle fragile glass balls in the air, and she is, with grace and dignity, doing IT ALL.
She was a beauty queen.
She now has five children.
And she is still a hot, sexy piece of ass in a bikini.
It isn’t any mystery why her husband is such an obviously a happy guy.

She's been a mayor, headed the oil and gas commission, an important regulatory post, and is governor of one of the most important states in the Union. "No power. No knowledge. No standing." Come on, her experience stacks up pretty well against Obama who is not in the vp position, but running for president after 143 days in the Senate.
His experience clearly showed when he suggested that the Georgian matter be referred to the United Nations. It took 48 hours for his advisers to convince him that the Russians have a seat on the security council and could veto any proposals. (BTW, Susan Rice is one of his most prominent advisers. She's the genius who ignored Sudanese efforts to turn over Osama bin Laden to the US back in the Clinton administration.)

I don't support Palin because I think she is being used (clever ploy by Mccain but wrong choice). Note carefully the years over which the changes have occurred. Palin can't even handle her daughter who is part of this age demographic, how can she address a country full of young people who need guidance and support?
She is a wealthy mother supporting her teen. Most unwanted teen pregnancies are going home to already struggling mothers or grandparents. It sends a wrong message.

And..PS about the news. Many networks are biased in their reporting so don't expect to come to objective decisions based on biased news presenting. If you watch CBS, Fox 5, ABC, WB, NBC and CNN, you will hear the same story, different conclusion. Don't assume that the reporters are unbiased - it is very subliminal...as they say in jamaica "fuckery".

Lured by the McCain camp, Obama supporters engaged in an argument about who had more overall experience - the top of the Democratic ticket or the bottom of the GOP ticket. This diminished Obama.
Meanwhile, the media lit up in all their cultural-elite splendor.
Alaska? they sneered. It has the population of Las Vegas! Funny how the coastal elite only sneers at red states with small populations. Howard Dean hailed from a blue state with almost the same population as Alaska and was a national phenomenon and front-runner for the presidency. Joe Biden's Delaware has a similarly small population - but no mocking was forthcoming there.
Evangelicals will never vote for a woman who works! they declared. This from people who've likely never met an evangelical in their lives. They could barely contain themselves when they found out Gov. Palin's daughter was pregnant, so sure were they that evangelicals would hang her from the highest tree. When evangelical leaders expressed support, there was a palpable disappointment that Palin or her daughter wasn't branded with a scarlet letter.
They claimed that the Palin announcement was some desperate pick that came out of nowhere. Had they been doing their jobs, or even perusing The Weekly Standard or right-wing blogs, they'd have known that she was on the list.
Since they didn't know anything about her, they started making things up. Anything that fit the caricature of a right-wing hypocrite was thrown up with, seemingly, no fact-checking.
They said she opposes contraception, when she said in a campaign debate that she is pro-contraception. They said she cut funding for pregnant teens, when she provided a massive funding hike.
They accused her of cutting funding for mentally disabled children, when she raised it 175 percent over the former administration. She was said to have been a member of the wacky Alaska Independence Party; The New York Times had to run a retraction.
Like Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Palin has been deemed one of the GOP's rising stars. Since it's national reporters job to cover American politics, their ignorance of about her is distressing.
Most Americans think that the media are cheerleading for
Obama, so they'll punish him for the reporters' and editors' sins.
So now he is weighted down with more baggage as he works to convince an important voting bloc that he and his party don't hold them in contempt.

I have just about had it with you people who say you are deomcrats but will vote for a republican, who does not reflect your beleifs, does not support any of the positions you hold but is still somehow "AWESOME!". Whoa. Everyone needs to take a step back and take a deep breath. These are some very controversial topics and issues that people are incredibly passionate about. We need to maintain respect for each others beliefs regardless of whether or not we agree with them.

to this Sara woman, who obviously has such deep personal issues, she attacked me PERSONALLY from the beginning, no one else did. I don't believe in backing down from bullies, which she obviously is. I have had LOTS of people disagree with me, but never, in any blog, had anyone ever personally attack me like this. As someone with a degree in Psychology, I can see that Sara does this TO EVERYONE she comes in contact with...but as a woman, she just plain pissed me off and I re-acted. I am not going to apologize for anything I said to her: it was richly deserved.

I live in Michigan---which is a Battle Ground State right now---we all voted for Hillary big time here in MI, but of course, BO didn't want it to count. I am a journalist and some of my best friends from college work on CNN, MSNBC, FOX and at various newspapers across the USA. I get a lot of inside information before it shows up in the news, in fact, Palin's VP choice was such a shock, EVERYONE was left reeling, it was wonderful to see how Obama was sunked. One of my friends worked for Obama in Chicago, when he was running for US Senate, and he says he has NEVER seen a canidate so full of himself, like Obama is. He also tells me that it was known among a few that Obama was fucking a woman who is NOT Michelle, his wife---and I am just waiting for that news to break. After Edwards, I would bet that Obama would fit the chick he was cheating with, with steel boots, Chicago Style. My friend at CCN says they have ALL heard the fucking-another-woman rumors, and that EVERYONE in news is digging, digging, digging about who Obama was fucking. I just read through some more of the slamming posts. I'm surprised at how out of control it became. I understand politics and religion are touchy subjects, and I have also often let myself get upset over something I've read - that's usually when I choose not to respond. When postings get downright rude & disrespectful, it diminishes both sides. A point can be made without the personal attacks. I also recognize that sometimes it's not worth getting upset over trying to change someone else's point of view. There are far more things in life that need positive attention versus trying to slam another person for not agreeing with your perspective. As much as I like to think I have a very logical perspective, I also realize not everyone will see things the way I do. While it is often easier said than done, I try to remind myself, that's just her point of view & no matter what I say, it will not change who she is and why she believes that way.
Another point to remember, ladies: this is type not verbal conversation, so often the intention and tone is misconstrued and therefore can get WAY off base from the original point. I feel texting and e-mail has caused a major break down in our society and the way we communicate (that's a topic for another blog).

You're so 100% dead-on about how emails and texts misconstrue tone and intention. WHile it is convient to order things on line and get an instant email confirmation, or it's great to text someone on a plane while they are flying to another country---entire relationships have failed because of the misconstrued tones of texts and emails.

I agree with your comment on "when anyone challenges a liberal or democrat they come out with their boxing gloves on" idea. I see this again and again. They say exactly what they think regardless of how it will be taken or come across then when someone meets them at their own level they cry "woe is me."
For a long time there was much of that going on here at the site and for the first time we have women from the other side of the camp challenging them and it has gotten nasty.
Very good points. Let us all challenge each other but put aside the snarky, nasty remarks, profanity and personal attacks.
State your points but to think that you are going to change someone's ideas or beliefs by attacking them is silly.
As I said before everyone stick to the facts and support your arguments with valid information and call others out (appropriately) when they are giving wrong information.
I have read a lot of bad information here regarding Palin and on other posts like her baby being born and her making her daughter marry the boyfriend instead of having her get an abortion. She is supporting her daughters choice and a 17 year old while being young isn't stupid and can make some good choices for themselves.

I, too, was devastated that Hillary Clinton (the woman who should be President) missed out to Obama and felt angry about that for some time. When she was not selected as VP, I wondered if she would shock us all with an Independent ticket. But, over time I came to accept that there was nothing I could do to help Clinton. But there was something I could do for America. Support a Democratic candidate. I live in Arizona and I think McCain is an ok kind of guy.
But, I too have researched Obama and I have listened and watched. He will make a fine President. He is a Statesman and his heart is in the right place. He is a servant leader. When McCain introduced his VP, I almost fainted. What? Oh but McCain's brains are in his pants. What was he thinking. She is a self serving (as opposed to servant leader), conniving little beauty queen who has used those same tactics to get where she is. I watched her speech and found her voice irritating but I owed it to myself to continue. During her speech I wanted to vomit as I saw her sneers and the steely glint in her eye. She wants to be President. How convenient that her Presidential nominee is old and ailing. Mind you, Ms Alaska Runner Up may well stop at nothing to get what she wants.
I am deeply, deeply insulted that this non mother, this selfish girl has been placed in this position to draw my vote away from the Democrats. She is intended to assuage my Hillary grief. No way, no how, No Palin-with-a-heart-of-stainless-steel.
What is worse is that she risked the life of her Down's Syndrome baby by flying so late and flying after her waters had broken. But worse than all of this is the fact that she should have put her political career on hold at least for the first year of her son's life...the most dangerous for her precious baby's condition. This is unforgivable.
Don't start me on her ridiculous stance on gay rights (your did your research on her?), abstinence (she didnt and her daughter didnt but the rest of us have to), abortion (no 'chick choice' there girls) et al because I might never stop.
Sarah Palin undermines all the work women of my generation did to earn respect and equal pay. All that we did for women.

Seshat65: I started reading through some of the commentary from your 1st posting and I have to admit that it is apparent whenever someone (as you did) makes a valid and logical point, the more "left-wing" thinkers tend to take offense to it and respond with defense and anger, rather than see the obvious points. I LOVED your original posting and praise you for being an objective and educated thinker, with an ability to keep an open mind and see a different side or perspective.
I think too often people get blinded by being right, closed-minded thinking, and hatred that it disables them from seeing the positives and another view point. Personally, I listen to both sides and I look for their logical plans for making REAL change in our country. I don't agree 100% with either side, but I definitely lean more toward the Republican views. I lean that direction because any platform (typically Democrats) that continues to promote government dependency is illogical and stifles growth.
As for Sara Palin & the negative commentary I've seen posted here: she is 100% true grit and one REAL person. How anyone can't see that about her is beyond my understanding. She has a proven record of her accomplishment in her public service as both mayor and governor. I'd personally like to see our governor take a lesson from Sara about how to cut the wasteful spending (i.e., sold the luxury jet on Ebay, drives herself to work, and fired the personal chef). Quite frankly, I admire any woman who stands up to the good ol' boys and holds her ground for making changes. WHO GIVES A FLYIN F*^* what the size of her town/city was - it's still a stepping stone to the spot she's in now. We all had to start somewhere in life - I doubt there are many who can say their first job was in a prominent and notable position. As for her family life - she is a mother of 5 - what mother do you know who hasn't had her challenges raising her children? I agree her family life plays a small role in what we should know about her, but enough is enough with passing judgement on her pregnant daughter (even Barack said to stop with that). As for other facts about her (and other political misreporting), go to this site FACTCHECK.ORG (http://alphawomen.com/comment/reply/6073#comment-f...). That is a good reference for some of the BS in the media.

I am probably the most Liberal girl in thw world (well, one of them) I believe in the right to choose, that prostitution should be legal, that gays and lesbians should have every legal protection and right as Hetrosexual couples, that it should be Sex Ed and not "abstainence" (sp today!)---so my wanting Palin has every thing to do with her qualifications and NOTHING to di wiuth MY PERSONAL BELIEFS and how greatly they differ from her's. Palin signed a bill for Sex Ed, she signed a bill to get gays and lesbians their legal rights and protection as couples---this shows me that Palin has the ability to see far and beyond HER OWN PERSONAL VIEWPOINT, and to sign into Law, what is best FOR THE PEOPLE SHE SERVES. THAT is why she gets my vote!

In fact, Freda called you out and told you essentially that you have no right to request that. I have seen plenty that have called into question your logic and even your sobriety. Blogging is a wonderful way to share your thoughts. However, once you post, you may get differing opinions. The only reason this blog stream has gone on so long is because it is fascinating to follow the comments. Many of the blogs that have been posted have called you out. And gosh, that has inflamed you!
