So I have a job tutoring a kid in English, and today she had the following prompt: You are on a deserted island. You have no food, no water, not even a cell phone.
The kid was totally like, "uhh...I dunno...." I ended up giving her a different prompt that she liked more (What would you do if you won a million dollars?). But my imagination soared...what would I do?
I thought it'd be fun to hear some of your survival techniques, but for an even more enjoyable scenario I am going to change it up a bit. WE (the members of AW) are all on a deserted island with no food, water or cell phones. Write what you would contribute to the group so all of us could survive. We ARE Alpha Women

I speak it and read it fluently but my writing is rusty:(

Well, the first priority, I
Well, the first priority, I suppose, would be food and water, so I'd set about finding sources for those two needs. I've lived from the land before (though never through necessity), so it's something with which I'm somewhat familiar.
I actually just got done with eight days in the backcountry (which is why I've been away from AW), but I planned ahead and took plenty of food and water with me...

Well I can knit (with or without needles), weave, and make baskets. On a larger scale I suppose I could knit rope, blankets, and even rooftops if I had enough people to help gather strips of leaves and thin twigs. I am a good teacher too so I could pass along my trade to others.
Cool post!

Deserted Island
I fear I would not be a good addition to your stranded island clan. I refuse to get my ankles wet in ocean water (don't ask. Just know that movies DO make an impact on young minds.), I'm allergic to anything that grows outside and I hate bugs.
BUT.. I'm a good entertainer, I'm fairly good in organizing and logistics so maybe I could be of some help.
