My e-mail address has been spammed! How? I was sent an e-mail with my sister in law's name..inviting me to Tagged.com. This website is a spam website. Once you click on the yes button to verify that this person is a friend..you have to register. Then they will ask you for your e-mail address and you PASSWORD! Yes, I was foolish enough to enter it. I actually didnt think anything of it. Usually Im very careful and weary. Anyhow..there are e-mails that have a link "unsubscribe"..it will actually subscribe you without your consent & send you a thank you e-mail. Then I got these "Return Path" e-mails asking to verify that I wanted to update my e-mail address for Sprint Nextel. I dont even have an account with them! This e-mail had my email address from where the spam started..and wanted me to update "my account" with my yahoo email address. I kept wondering how they knew it. So please, please..read your e-mails carefully, if you find them the slightest bit suspicious, do not click on any link. Do not even open the link on a new tab! Yes, Im that foolish..lol, apparently. *sigh* And once again, I am truly sorry for causing this mess. Remember "Tagged.com" & "Return Path" are a HUGE NO NO!

This should be rated red. They ask for your personal info and spam your friends in your contact list after finding your email password. I was tricked into signing up through my two other friends. Before I signed up I checked this site on site advisor and it was green so I trusted Mcafee. That was a big mistake!

Oh please site advisor, why in the world is this site green. After you sign up they ask for your hotmail/yahoo/msn/livemail password so they can log into your email and spam all your contacts with their promotions. Do not register or give your email to any dumb registered users. It happended to me, gave email to some dumb girl now i get spammed daily by this site saying she "tagged me".

The site disclaimer falsely claims that you have to agree in order to receive their email spam.
Well I have never agreed and never registered but I still get their spam - "on behalf of" people who have me on their contact list in messenger. When I contacted these people they had no idea and many were embarrassed to know it had happened.
The only conclusion therefore is that this site is both spyware and spamware.
Add them to your junk email filter - NOW! They are harvesting passwords. With your password they can see all your saved email (if it is hotmail etc) including other password resets etc.

I've got a lot of spam these days, and the reviews on this page make me believe Tagged might be the culprit.
Hotmail keeps getting repeated spam and when I think about it, it probably started soon after I'd signed up to them. I don't use them anymore, but I still get spammy emails all the time.

I haven't risked joining this site, nor will I, just to have a more fully imformed basis for posting here, but will just say that any site with the sheer AUDACITY to expect the user to give the password to his/her email account -- that is, to COMPLETE STRANGERS -- should NOT -- repeat, should NOT -- get a "good" rating. And the fact that this site HAS a "good" rating in spite of this dubious practice of asking the user to compromise his email security, and in spite of all the "red" ratings the site has received here from SiteAdviser users only detracts from the credibility of the SiteAdviser service itself.

Tagged uses personally identifiable user information for the purposes of the Tagged website, the Tagged referral and friend list building. Personally identifiable information including members' pictures and names are displayed to people in order to facilitate user interaction on Tagged. Email addresses are used for the purposes of inviting new friends to join Tagged and to add users to members' friends' networks. To facilitate searching and finding friends and acquaintances on the service, Tagged allows users to search for other members using first and last name, email address, location and schools where users may have attended. We also use email addresses to send useful information to all registered users regarding the Tagged website. For example, we use email addresses of users, and of those persons provided on their referral lists, to send an invitation to the referred friend and encourage them to sign up on Tagged. When a user lists an email address on the referral page, an email is automatically sent from that registered user to the referral address, encouraging the referral to sign up on the Tagged website. If the referred person does not sign up within a few days, we also send a reminder from the registered user to the referral address. All registered users will be able to view other users Stats, Profiles, Journals and friend list pages, which may include personal information and responses to survey questions. If a registered user refers a friend who goes on to sign up on our site, then the registered user earns points. For more information about the point system, see http://www.tagged.com/huh.html.
