Rocking Out

A couple of weeks ago I bought my kids the game Guitar Hero. They literally sat there for hours trying to figure out how to play the darn thing. The better they got the louder they played the music, tapped their little feet, and nodded their heads to the beat. After days of them begging me to play I finally gave in. Being that I am a huge fan of music and knew the songs and the beats how difficult could it possibly be? I was wrong!!! Even the tutorial was impossibly frustrating. I couldn’t figure it out; until I stopped trying so hard to win. I realized that listening to the music was just as important (if not more) as pressing the right buttons. That’s when I started “rocking.”
I was amazed at how simple the game was. Now if only I could apply that technique to everything else in my life.
I know life isn’t always that simple. Or could it be? I don’t have all the answers and don’t exactly “rock out” in every aspect of my life. But maybe if we all just stopped trying to press all the “right buttons” and listen to the “music” in our life we could all rock out? It could be people in our life we aren’t listening to, our bodies that are screaming for rest that we don’t hear. Or in my case Guitar Hero…how cheesy!!!
I’ve gotta go now it’s my turn to play Rolling Stones “Painted Black.” Before I go
Here are some of my favorite inspirational songs:
Mary J Blige “Just Fine”
Sheryl Crow “Out of Our Heads”
Eve “Satisfaction”
KT Tunstall “Suddenly I See”
Juanes “A Dios Le Pido”

I love A Dios Le Pido! I

I love A Dios Le Pido! I love Juanes music in general, though.

I never thought the game Guitar Hero could be applied to life like this. I always see my friends splaying it and have no interest whatsoever to pick up the guitar, I'm so sure I'll make a complete fool of myself! But who knows...maybe thanks to you I will try and pick it up, apply it to my life Smiling

Rocking Out

Yeah...I've never thought about trying it either. They were pretty persistent though. The only reason why I agreed was because I heard The Killer's "When We Were Young" playing-great song!!!
