Real Name
Deborah Porter
Bio
Deborah was born March 6, 1954 in San Francisco, California, as the only child of a single mother and an absentee father. Her mother was a native of the cotton fields of Mississippi who loved to cook, her father of Creole and Indian descent, hailed from the streets of New Orleans; both are deceased. She spent half her life in Fairbanks, Alaska and the other half living a middle-class life in the Haight-Ashbury of San Francisco.

As an event marketer and emerging business mogul, Deborah Porter has a passion for creating ingenious event concepts, designs and viral marketing campaigns. With almost 20 years experience, her travels have taken her to Australia; Bermuda; Rio de Janeiro, London, Paris, Rome, Athens, Hong Kong, Dublin, and Barcelona, managing special events for high powered execs and celebrity clientele. "Santorini, Greece is probably my favorite city, but I admit it is hard not to love Paris." Deborah specializes in producing flamboyant event experiences and spectacular parties – she orchestrated a private VIP cocktail party in the ancient Celsus Library ruins (in the Turkish city of Ephesus), and managed details for many executive meetings and retreats for senior management of Wells Fargo Bank, Sun Microsystems, Apple Computer, and world-renowned economic leaders such as Dr. Sung W. Sohn. Deborah began her event planning career in the late ‘80’s working for Safaris & Tours and Creative Incentive Marketing (a subsidiary of Carlson Marketing). In the early ’90’s she won service and creative awards for her contributions to the Apple USA Sales Development Conference as well as with AmeriCorps.

Working currently as the Conference Marketing Manager for a trade publication, managing four global expos, Deborah also formed, Creativity Made Fresh, an Event Marketing & Ideas enterprise as an outlet for her insanely creative energy. But she’s quick to point out that she’s not just an event or party planner. “My expertise really is in blending together brands, products and entertainment elements that provides clients with eye-popping, thought-provoking, full-immersion brand experiences...”. Her team recently created and produced, "Manolos & Martinis" a fan based event in anticipation of the 2008 Sex and The City movie release; working exclusively with Wynn Las Vegas' Manolo Blahnik brand. The event was a successful marriage of brands that created a buzz and media attention of the Las Vegas Review Journal, the Las Vegas Weekly, the Hollywood Weekly, 944 and Ebony Magazines. With a rather serious addiction to designer shoes, Deborah launched a couture shoe consignment website called, Step-Sisters.com in 2005. Her vision for Step-Sisters is to be the absolute best social network for women who have a passion for designer shoes. As a former model standing 6’ tall, Porter also enjoyed a successful modeling career (catalog, print and runway) in the early 1980’s, including posing on the album cover, “Nightwings” of the late jazz great, Stanley Turrentine.

By 2000, Deborah was focused on conducting a series of Diva “Dream” Parties on the west coast in response to demand for viable programs and events for woman. And after relocating to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2003, she became a ‘Success Team’ trainer in Barbara Sher’s national groundbreaking organization. “...I wanted to provide a relevant and meaningful place for women to connect – where we could address spiritually, sexuality, career, parenting, dreams, as well as our core emotional well being -- that's really where my passion is,” says Porter. She is currently developing a reality-based video series as an extension of these exclusive women events.

Now divorced, Deborah has a healthy & fun relationship with her ex-husband who resides in Seattle, WA. Porter says, “...I married my best friend so we’re still very good friends today.” Her two adult daughters from the marriage and 7-yr old grandson, live near-by in Las Vegas; and her two half-brothers in Los Angeles and New Orleans respectively. Deborah now studies Kabbalah and makes her home in Henderson, Nevada with her dog, Bobby Brown and 200+ pairs of designer shoes.
