Bio

I teach the business and technical writing and science writing classes at the University of California, Davis. I moved to Davis last year with my husband, who also teaches writing here, and our four children (ages 11, 9, 3 and 1). In addition to teaching, I write and edit on a freelance basis. Right now I am working on a first-time novelist's book. He's already got an advance from a publisher, so I am hoping he'll make it big! It's my first time editing a book of fiction, so it is an adventure for both of us. Previously, I have edited books in the biological sciences, sociology, and religion. I have written for a variety of technical projects including managing documentation for a particle accelerator built for and shipped to Oak Ridge National Lab in TN. I have also written for the bioprocessing industry (part of the biotech industry dealing with viral vectors, cancer vaccines, assays and more). I hold an MA in Professional Writing from Old Dominion University, and a BA from the University of Texas, Austin.
