- I wanted to do something to help animals. My site, My Makeup Mirror, revolves around a list of non-animal tested cosmetics companies. Thankfully, this list is growing every day. Of course vegan makeup would be even better, so I note on the list the companies that use no animal ingredients at all - and that list is growing, too! When I became a vegetarian about 30 years ago, people thought I was nuts. Now there are vegetarian restaurants all over the place, and health food supermarkets! So with all that's going on in the world, perhaps in some areas we are getting kinder. More people are adopting their pets from animal shelters, more animal-protection laws are being passed, and slowly but surely perhaps, I hope, love and compassion is entering the hearts of consumers.
