This may sound a little weird to some of you, not so weird to others. Just bear with me, because I use this technique a lot, and I can honestly say it works at least 90-percent of the time. And I'm a college educated, well-read skeptic who for years thought, "Oh, this is just coincidence."
Yes, I'm talking about "coincidence" - but I'm changing the term to Jung's word, "synchronicity," and I'm adding a bunch of ritual around it based on many of the world's great spiritual thinkers.**
The core of getting what you want is easy: If you want it, give it away.
Let's start with money.
Point 1: Don't go nuts with this; give away only what you can afford. The Universal Mechanism doesn't care if you give a penny or a thousand dollars. It's the ACT of giving that gets the Mechanism's attention. So if you're out of a job and you have a family, don't think that you can magically turn all your savings over to the animal shelter and you'll win the lottery. It doesn't work that way.
If you're out of a job and have a family, perhaps you can work an hour a week at Meals on Wheels (www.mowaa.org), or an hour a month at Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic (www.rfbd.org). Perhaps you can give a dollar on Sundays when the church donation basket comes around. Or you can sell something on eBay and send the proceeds to the Red Cross (www.redcross.org).
Point 2: Watch your 'tude, dude. I realize I'm too old to be using words like 'tude, but oh well. Here's what's important: You have to give in a loving, kind, caring way. In your head, you need to think, "I'm grateful to be able to give this $10.00 to the Women's Shelter (http://www.shelterforwomen.net/women_shelters_1.htm)." In your soul, you feel a warmth, knowing that you are connected to the brothers and sisters with whom we share the planet. If you're thinking, "I'll give $25.00 to the United Way (http://uwint.org/devfinal/) because I want to get a bunch of money back," it won't work. It simply doesn't work that way.
Point 3: After you've given away the very thing you want to receive, keep your attitude of gratitude, and add one more mental image: that of confident expectance. Know in your heart that what you need will come to you. Don't worry about it. Give it time. Repeat the exercise if you have to, but never allow fear or doubt to enter the equation.
Point 4: After you've given away your money, and while you're waiting in harmony with the Mechanism for the circle to be completed, LET GO of your desire for more money. A constant, nagging desire can break the circle. If you find yourself fearful, acknowledge it, bless the fear, and invite gratitude into your heart instead. It works - it's quite amazing, but it works.
Point 5: Money will come to you. Be aware that it might not be in a way you're expecting. It might come in the form of a job offer, a raise at your current job, or a new idea for a product that you can create and sell.
When it does come to you, it's important to acknowledge it, express gratitude to the Mechanism that is God or the Universe, and remember what it feels like to give and receive.
Do this exercise a lot, and you'll be strengthening your spiritual give-receive muscles. I was amazed at how well this works, and I hope you will be, too.
