Scott and I ran some errands tonight that kept us in the car and on the move for about 2 hours.
Our trips away from work/home are well-planned these days. We actually try to come up with as many tasks to get done as possible while we're out, to make it the most efficient use of our time and gas as possible.
So anyway, while we were out tonight our thread of conversation seemed to keep coming back to the traffic. Well actually the lack of it.
I guess the change has been taking place over the last several months, but it's just been the past few weeks that we've really noticed it.
The streets are virtually empty. And for Houston traffic, that's a big deal.
I have to wonder if its the gas prices, the overall energy crisis, or just the addition of the new freeway networks and toll road systems that have popped up everywhere.
Have y'all noticed anything similar in your respective metropolitan areas?

There have been several news stories in the last few days suggesting that motorists are cutting back on driving because of high gasoline prices. I know I'm being more careful about driving.
I definitely still hit
I definitely still hit traffic when traveling home from tutoring, and yesterday (it POURED) you would not believe the amount of cars on the road crashing into one another. I heard a siren every 5 seconds. And for little Grayslake, Illinois, that's a lot.
I don't think the price thing has hit too hard here yet because this is partly a "rich" area. I give it a couple more months, though. Jesus, winter is always fun in IL...
