Celeb Sightings

Since moving to Nashville we have not seen that many famous people. Being the country music capital, people ask if we see musicians all the time. I’m not that familiar with country music, so I could walk right by the next big thing and have no idea. However I do recognize the big people and have seen a few.

When I worked at the Nashville Symphony Trish Yearwood, Garth Brooks, Amy Grant and Vince Gill were all audience members. Trish is STUNNING! Vince? A little chunky.

While working at the Nashville Ballet I spotted Lori Morgan in the audience for the Nutcracker. Scott Hamilton was IN the Nutcracker this year, but seeing him in a show doesn’t really count.

I also saw Faith Hill in a Hallmark a couple of years ago. She always seems so tall on TV, but she’s kind of average height. Must be the Manolos.

So in 3 years in a celebrity-filled city, I’ve not really had that many encounters. But in the last 2 weeks it’s suddenly all celebrities, all the time.

The first (and most exciting!!) was as Ricky and I were leaving the Sex and the City movie. (Yes, I dragged him along. And no, he was not the only husband/significant other there.) As we were on our way out, we spotted NICOLE KIDMAN (love her!) and Keith Urban on their way in. She is stunning (and TAAAAAALLLLLLL!)

She had no make-up on, her hair was piled on top of her head, she had on a little sundress and flip-flops. Even without make-up she was still gorgeous. But she was also just walking along chatting with her husband on her way to the movies. Had our friend not pointed her out, I might have walked right by her and never known. Love how glamorous and normal she is all at the same time.

That same evening as Ricky and I were leaving Kroger in walked Ben Folds. Also a big fan of his, so I was a happy girl that day.

That was a couple of weeks ago. This weekend Ricky and I were doing a little shopping at a local mall and I noticed this tall, pretty woman. I thought “Is that? No. Maybe?” And then I spotted the mole and knew that it was indeed Niki Taylor.

(Do y’all remember her? She was on the cover of Seventeen magazine a ton during my junior high/high school years. (We’re talking 80’s here, people.))

Ricky and I then stopped into a restaurant for a little lunch and a few minutes later in she walks with her sons. She is still beautiful and thin (although she’s not supermodel thin anymore.)

And are you ready for the best part????

She ate a hamburger and fries.

Yep, Ms. Supermodel ate greasy, fatty food.

I think I love her.
