Anyone that works in an office knows all too well the incredible stress of getting dressed for work. No, not just once. But day, after day, after day. Seriously, the only thing more painful than putting up with an obnoxious boss is putting on the same old, boring suit! If you’re looking to replace the drab and put a little pep in your step, here are a few tips:
1.Replace the jacket with a vest, cardigan or a trendy cropped jacket.
2. Buy a red scarf or handkerchief (good quality). It can be worn in a variety of ways and always screams "power." Try tying it off your purse; tucking it into your jacket, or vest pocket; or even using it as a belt.
3. Replace your basic white shirt for a men’s white shirt. When buying (or borrowing) a men’s shirt, be mindful of the fit and make sure it's the smallest size you can squeeze in too. If the sleeves are too long, roll em' up.
4.Get a slightly wider and different colored belt than you're used too. Tan colored belts just pop with suits. I love the way it looks when worn over the men's shirt. Important: if you're going to wear a belt over a men's shirt, make sure it either falls at the end of your ribs (to show off your waist) or at the top of your hips (for a more laid-back look).
5.Shoes are also a great and easy way to add color to any outfit. In fact, suits especially look great with colored shoes because suits are usually a solid pattern. Grey peeped toed shoes are my fave lately. It's basically my new black, and they can be worn with any thing.
Hope this brings some life back into your suits!
