Florida weather is so frustrating for year-rounders like me (it's no secret that the vast majority of Floridians are transplants from above the Mason-Dixon line -- usually New York, New Jersey or Michigan). After another brutally hot and humid summer it's also nearly impossible to describe how I miss the crisp, cool Fall temperatures of my New Jersey childhood and that brief yet magical time when every leaf turns crimson red and burnt orange.
Most of all I miss Fall outfits! C'mon! I love my flip-flops; but my Frye's need to see the light of day! But enough of my whining.....necessity is the mother of invention and in that spirit I've come up with a few simple, fun and economical ways to transition my abundant amount of summer pieces into Fall outfits:
1. Shrugs are a good way to add a touch of warmth to your favorite flowery dress.
2. Wrap sweaters are great over tank-tops and are a great alternative to a jacket.
3. Tights keep your legs warm and add character.
4. Layering a white fitted shirt to a spaghetti strap dress portrays a polished look.
5. Thin belts help give last season’s cardigan a sharp, new look.
6. Open-toe shoes with tights grabs that "light and airy" look.
