As Sen. Obama is closing in on wrapping up the Democratic Nomination for President, his bitter rival, Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-NY was showing signs that she was preparing to do the unthinkable, admitting defeat. Clinton is fully aware that when Obama secures the final delegates, the nomination is his, not hers.
A very confident Obama stated during a recent press conference, "I told her that once the dust settled, I'm looking forward to meeting with her at a time a place of her choosing". Wow, this must be a real, one-two sucker punch for a woman so in love with her gigantic ego, and just a year ago, she was the Democratic Front Runner, head-and-shoulders above any other Democrat running for the party presidential nomination. What a blow to Hillary and her husband, Bill, who wanted to be Queen and King of the United States (again).
Hillary has given no public hint of quitting the race, oh, no, that would be way beneath her, and she can't be seen as a "quitter". Bill, however, takes a more optimist view of the situation whereas he suggested to the press, "This may be the last day I'm ever involved in a campaign of this kind". Too bad he can't seem to convince his arrogant, egotistical wife of that fact.
It's really sad when someone stays at a party too long, and doesn't have the sense and grace to bow out. Not Hillary and her entourage, instead she has her close friend, Harold Ickes, from the Bill Clinton years on every major political talk show on Sunday, May 1st, declare how Hillary is being "robbed of delegate votes in the respective states of Michigan and Florida".
I, for one, am very pleased that the voters in our country decided to nix a 3rd and 4th Bill Clinton presidency once and for all. We do not need to go back in time, we need to keep moving forward and continue to make our country strong and the best place to live in the history of the World.

She's Open to VP, Apparently
I just noticed the major news channels are reporting that she's said she's open to the VP slot now.
She's Open to VP, Apparently
I hope Obama isn't dazzled and swayed by the Clintons, cloud his thinking and allow Hillary on the ticket as Veep candidate. What a fiasco that would be, Bill in the shadows trying to run the whole show. If Obama wants to win, he'd be better off selecting a candidate without the heavy baggage with a husband that's a former president.
Obama and the Clintons
I remembered this comment of yours from the other day, so I thought I'd pass along this bit from Reuters this morning:
In an interview with NBC News, Obama said he would not be rushed into making a decision about his running mate. He also said he would welcome former President Bill Clinton's help in the campaign.
"My strong feeling is that moving forward, I'm going to need Bill Clinton involved in this process," Obama said. "He still is a transcendent political figure in this country. And I want him involved."
This is only one small bit of the overall article, which is on the change in the race from dueling democrats to a run for the presidency.

Obama and the Clintons
Maybe, but from what I've heard from Obama's Chicago Campaign Office, they are NOT warm & fuzzy about Bill assisting in the campaign at all. Matter of fact, one of the campaign workers I spoke to was very explicit, "I wish he and his wife would just pack it up and go home". Read my latest post about the roommates from hell.
