For a moment, let's forget about Hillary's claims of dodging sniper bullets in Bosnia, that she met a woman without health insurance that died because she was turned away from a hospital and later passed away, or that Mrs. Clinton was named after a great explorer, Sir Edmund Hilary. Hey, these fibs are not major whoppers, but her current attempt to tell tall tales about her "record" that she "has always opposed the North America Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) is a disgrace. It's an attempt to curry favor and support among the blue collar workers in Pennsylvania. After all, Hillary can "relate to everyday working stiffs and the Joe Six Packs in our country". Oh, sure, after releasing tax returns, reporting that she and Bill made $109M since they left office in 2000.
Regardless of what you've heard from the Hillary supporters, including the resurfacing of James Carville, Hillary was a strong supporter of NAFTA.
In her memoir, "Living History" (or as I call it the $10.5M airing out her dirty wash and linen in public), she touted that one of her husband's (Bill Clinton) key legislative accomplishment of his first two years in office as President was the ratification of NAFTA. Another supporter of ratification of NAFTA was former vice president, Al Gore. Don't kid yourself, Hillary was indeed the co-president, and was deeply involved in the decision to enlist past presidents in supporting the NAFTA bill, and closely followed the vote count.
Now, Mrs. Clinton, while running for president, has done a complete 180, and is attempting to re-invent her record and stance on NAFTA, just in time for the Pennsylvania Democratic Primary. Hillary really wants us to fall for this, and further continues to show her arrogance and belief she can sell the American People and voters anything she wants, because she feels entitled to be the Democratic Presidential Nominee and President. Her ability to spread falsehoods about her rival (Obama) and the GOP candidate (McCain) is amazing.
During the Clinton administration, trade was no side issue, it was central to Clinton's world view. Bill Clinton knew he had to lead the U.S. to a complete and successful new global economy. The universal health care agenda and bill was soundly defeated, and that was the centerpiece of the Clinton agenda. However, Bill Clinton's refusal to submit to protectionism to reduce layoffs and small businesses going bust because of the largest tax increase in the history of the United States in 1993 was a watershed moment.
In 2000, when Hillary vacated the White House for New York, declared herself as a candidate for U.S. Senator, she was considered as a reliable vote for free trade and supporting a host of bilateral agreements first negotiated by the first President Bush and her husband's administration.
While searching Google on Hillary Rodham Clinton, I discovered a link whereas in November 1993, Hillary spoke at a meeting to promote NAFTA. In 1996 during the re-election of her husband, Hillary stated "that NAFTA was giving Americans a chance to complete" and I think NAFTA is proving it's worth". Fancy that, huh?
In 2002 the Democratic Leadership Council praised Bill Clinton's economic policies as the economic recovery plan stood first and foremost as a testament, in the following order: National Service, The Brady Bill, Family Leave, investment in science and technology and NAFTA.
Regardless of your political beliefs or party affiliation, NAFTA has worked very well for us. It was one of the most important and key pieces of legislation of the Clinton administration. Now, twelve to fifteen years later, Hillary tells us that NAFTA is all wrong. Her campaign is running out of gas and her attempt to revise history and sell the American people and voters is shameful.

Just another crooked politician!
I agree with you about Hilary and her lying. She thinks she can sell anything to the American public and that they will buy it. I used to be able to at least listen to her and now I see her as just another crooked politician - as if we need another one.
