We're all adults here, and I'm sure you have what it takes to not only use the site properly, but become one of the best darn bloggers AlphaWomen has ever had! Using common sense is key here - if you do, and think about your readers as well as what you want to convey, you'll generally be in the clear. But humor us and scan the guidelines anyway...I mean, it'll only take a minute...what do you have to lose?

1. This is an online community, not a personal soapbox. While we respect and value your personal opinion, while you're here you have to do for others what we do for you. Show respect.
2. If you own a business or sell a product or service, that's great! But here at AlphaWomen we believe it's not what you sell people want to know about, it's who you are. You will get far more clients and sales by NOT promoting your products and services online.
   Trust me, I know that sounds weird. But no one likes to come to a community site and see a hard-sell it seems creepy...and it's our job to make sure you stay loved by all. Don't use AlphaWomen for advertising, ok? Let people get to know *you* - the business, sales, and clients will come from that, not self-promoting or advertising.
3. The "we're all adults" paragraph:
   We have a bunch of women blogging here. They aren't pod people, and as such, don't all have the same beliefs and values as you...or each other...or the management...to be an AlphaWoman you need to be able to respect that. I mean, I know you can...I have faith in you - but I want to make sure that you understand when push comes to shove and you REALLY HATE pink ice cream and you're reading an AlphaBlog about someone elses UNDYING LOVE of pink ice cream...you can keep it together! Here are a few suggestions on what you can do if a post offends you or makes you want to scream!
   BEST IDEA: Write your own post. Don't call out your fellow AlphaBlogger...just write a post on why you're not a big fan of pink ice cream. There. Now both messages are out there and you haven't started a turf war on our community site! At this point you can silenlty thank the AlphaBlogger that got you riled up enough to write what will probably be one of your best posts. High emotion brings high energy brings a very engaging post!
   SECONDARY IDEA: Go get a cup of tea, glass of water, or other beverage of choice while you put it into perspective. The idea you read is probably not the worst thing you've ever read, seen, or heard someone say in your life. So calm down, and then come back to the computer in a better state of mind. Then go back to best idea above and get YOUR opinion out there...without attacking the original post or poster.
4. Let's keep it PG-13 with the language, ok? I mean, I don't care personally, but we want to be the smartest, savviest group of women on the 'net...not the raunchiest.
5. Did you just find the best thing ever online? Share the link! We all want to vist too!
6. AlphaWomen do NOT plagiarize! If you must take a quote from another blog, follow "fair use" principles (e.g., don't copy the entire thing) and CITE IT with a link.
7. If you see someone else's blog is not following these guidelines, you are NOT a snitch if you tell us... Think of yourself as being part of the AlphaWomen Neighborhood Blog Watch. We all have to watch out for each other to keep our online neighborhood a wonderful place to live!
